I Need To Talk

I need to talk.

I want to stand with every mom or dad out there who is feeling the burn.  This post is for you.

I'm in deep.

What's-his-poor-face broke his fibula in two places, and just like that, I became a caretaker of those with many, many, many needs.

This is where I'm at....

I haven't eaten since last night.  My diet consists mostly of take-out, halloween candy and Diet Coke.

Emphasis on Diet Coke.

Last night, as I turned the shower on, my kid woke up.  I knew if I could get to her quick enough with a bottle, she would go back to sleep.  I turned the shower off, threw my robe on, tightened the cinch, ran downstairs to grab a bottle, ran up the stairs to deliver the bottle, and you know what I discovered?  If I run up the stairs naked, my post-baby gut slaps against the tops of my thighs.

I still haven't showered.

I haven't pee'd since 8:00 a.m.

It's 11:52 a.m.

My greatest accomplishment of the day is getting my baby to poop; four suppositories and lots of cheerleading got the job done.

I'm convinced all you women who always look great, not a hair out of place, clean house, clean car, perfect yard, well-dressed children with tone colons are addicted to Oxycontin.  I'm onto you!

  1. Every mom I know has been in your shoes. We're just not brave enough to post about it.
You are a great mom! You know how I can tell? Your baby and hubby are well taken care of and your house isn't your first priority. If the house was spotless, the 'real' moms in the world would be onto you :)

I love comments! I put them under my pillow.
