Sometimes I Text B-Lowe For Help

Thursday: I mowed the lawn on the riding lawn mower.

Friday: I needed to use the sweeper to pick up grass clippings, dog poop, duck poop, feathers, the ribbons which fell out of Jesse's ears, the hair that falls out of my head, leaves, you get the point.

I digress...the sweeper had to be hitched to the back of the lawn mower.  Before me were the following items:
  1. A gold pin with a handle on it.
  2. 2 silver rings.
  3. Metal pieces with holes in them.
I texted B-Lowe the following picture.  No words, just the picture.

He texted back: "They go on either side of the plate the pin goes through."

I then texted him THIS picture:

He texted back: "Never mind."  He came home that night and hitched the contraption up for me.  God love him!

Sunday: I tried to get the 4-wheeler going by myself but to no avail.  I texted B-Lowe...

Me: "4 wheeler won't start."

B-Lowe: "Hold the brake.....while you turn the key."

Me: "It doesn't start."

B-Lowe: "Put it in neutral...........never mind."

He came home and fixed it.  God love him!

Last night, while driving home from work on the interstate, a light came on I'd never seen before.  I called B-Lowe, no answer.  I didn't panic.  I'm 36 years old--Im beyond panic.  I took a picture of the image and texted it to him with this caption: "What is that?!!  What does that mean?!!  WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!!!"

I was sure my car was about to explode, or implode or...something horrible.  I waited for a word from B-Lowe.

Crickets chirped.

My heart raced.  I panicked.  I prayed in tongues.

I took another photo, this time bigger and brighter and sweat built up in my arm pits.  I made it home.

This morning: I begged B-Lowe to please take my car today because I am too scared to drive it.  "Something is very, very wrong with my car,"  I told him.  "There's this picture of half of a car, with a hammer sticking out of the side, or maybe the trunk.  Is there someone in my trunk?!!  They say if a perpetrator locks you in a trunk, you should try and knock out a tail light.  I want YOU to drive it today and maybe fix it.  Maybe look in the trunk."

He walked over to my car...

He opened the gas tank door...

He looked down and said, "Yur gas cap is off."  He twisted the cap on, shut the door and said,  "Have a nice day."  He walked away grinning, chuckling--walking that walk he does when he reins supreme in my world.

I went in the house and re-applied my Liplicious Tasty Lip Color in Fresh Mulberry from Bath & Body Works.

I sorted laundry.

I went back outside, coffee in hand, and watched my goslings swim in a hot pink kiddie pool.  I basked in the security I felt knowing I'm 36 years old, and my gas cap is on tight.

The end.

The Poodle Nanny

Meanwhile, back at the gosling crib...

Jesse, what are you doing?

How's it going, Jesse?  Want to go for a ride with me to the grocery store?

I'll roll the back windows down and you can feel the wind blow through your ears.

Jesse?  I'm over here, on your right.

An hour later.

I wonder what Poodle Nannies charge now-a-days.  This might cost me a fortune.

Tis So Sweet

Good morning!  This is Sammie.  She has a crush on me, and B-Lowe, and Jesse the Standard Poodle, and every other breathing thing.  She's a lover.

Every time I walk by the gosling crib, she looks up, stretches her neck as high as she can, and squeaks sweet, greetings of gosling love.

She had me at hello.

Before they went to sleep last night, I promised them I will always love them and cherish them and wrap them in soft blankets if they are cold or scared.  See if you can find 3 gosling heads in the middle of this gosling lovey, cuddly, wuddly, snuggly fest.

If you suddenly feel the urge to buy a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag from Nordstrom, don't fight it.  It's a normal reaction to the goslingness.  Try living here!

The Best Birthday Cake EVER

It was my nephew's birthday.  My sister has kept him alive for 4 years.

This is my sister on the left and my mom on the right.  Hi ladies!

My mom could kick Martha Stewart's creative butt any day...

rain or shine...

dog house or hen house...

paint or pastry...

meal or flower arrangement...

my mom would RULE.

Just like this cake RULES!

She even knew how to transport it perfectly, without flaw.

This was MY contribution to the celebration.  We put birthday presents in a great big box.

Then fit helium filled balloons around the gifts.

The idea was the balloons would pop out when the birthday boy opened his enormous box.

It was a hit.  You can tell I'm married to a guy who's into explosions and effect.

I'm happy to report the cake and the gigantic present filled with joy was a GREAT BIG HIT!

Cue the music: "We.  Are.  F-a-m-i-l-y!!!!!"

It's A Gosling Kinda Sunday

'Tap, tap'...this thing on?

Ahem....good morning!

On a Sunday like this, there's nothing better to wake up with than the following 3 things:

1.  Wild Mountain Blueberry Artificially Flavored Light Roast Coffee (say this five times as fast as you can for bragging rights).

2.  A Jimmy Dean sausage & gravy breakfast bowl...

3.  Three goslings who look up at me like I've hung the moon.  It's a true love affair.

"Look at the birds.  They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them.  And you are far more valuable to him than they are" (Matthew 6:26, NLT).

Just Call Me, "Mother Goose"

Why Geese?

Because they are sociable birds.

Because they are attractive birds.

Because you always have company when you are working outside.

Because they are always happy to see or hear us.

Because they always have something to say and like a chat.

Because they are bold as brass.

Because they have character.

Because they make us laugh.

Because when one does something, the others follow.

Because they are extremely tame and appealing.

Because they eat grass and weeds.

Because they offer rest and relaxation.

Because they are alert and vigilant.

Because I love them.

On another note: LOOK whose back in the water!

Harriet the duck contracted a horrible infection in the bone in her leg.

She has a fantastic vet who gave her care, compassion, x-rays and antibiotics.

We hope this means she is making a come back.  Please continue to pray for her.

I'm off to nuzzle my goslings and listen to their tiny squeaks.  I hope your Saturday is as happy as mine is!!!!
